First of all, the entire unit, minus the mixing bowel, is plastic and just has an overall cheap feel to it. The suction cups on the bottom do seem to hold it in place well enough, but if they wear out the mixer is too light weight to hold itself in place. The mixing utensils are also a disappointment.
