Raisins 2 cups hot water 1 tsp. salt 2 tsp. shortenting 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. cloves 3 cups flour Bring all ingredients except flour to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes after mixture starts to bubble. Let the raisin mixture get cold (not lukewarm, room temperature cold!).
