Homemade Red Braised Fish

Notes

Ingredients:
  • 1 Fish
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 1 spoon Soybean Paste
  • A bit of Green Onion
  • Appropriate amount of Ginger
  • 1 spoon Light Soy Sauce
  • 1 spoon Dark Soy Sauce
  • 1 spoon Oyster Sauce
  • Appropriate amount of Salt
Instructions:
  1. Clean the fish, cut slits on both sides, and prepare ginger, green onion, and garlic.
  2. Heat a pan with cold oil, fry the fish until both sides are golden brown, then remove and set aside.
  3. Leave some oil in the pan, add minced garlic, ginger, and green onion pieces, and fry until fragrant. Then add water, a bit of salt, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, and soybean paste (or bean paste).
  4. Put the fish back in, braise while occasionally spooning the sauce over the fish, for about 8 minutes (adjust time based on the size of the fish).
  5. Once the fish is cooked, remove it, leave the sauce in the pan, add some cornstarch water to thicken the sauce.
  6. Finally, pour the thickened sauce over the fish.
  7. Garnish with green onion before serving.
