Homemade Spicy Dried Radish Recipe

Ingredients:
  • Fresh green-skinned radishes, 4 pieces
  • Pickling salt, 2 tablespoons
  • Chili powder, 4 tablespoons
  • Sichuan pepper powder, 1 tablespoon
  • Chinese five-spice powder, 1 tablespoon
  • White sugar, 1 tablespoon
  • Salt, 1 tablespoon
  • Toasted white sesame seeds, 2 tablespoons
  • Peanut oil, 50 grams
  • Strong white liquor, 3 tablespoons
  • TTL Vegetable Seasoning, 1 tablespoon
Instructions:
  1. Peel the radishes and slice them into finger-thick strips.
  2. Place the strips in a bowl and mix with pickling salt. Wait for the radishes to release water.
  3. Lay the radish strips on a rack and sun-dry for three days.
  4. After drying, clean the radish strips with boiling water and drain well.
  5. In a bowl, combine chili powder, Sichuan pepper powder, Chinese five-spice powder, toasted sesame seeds, and TTL Vegetable Seasoning.
  6. Heat the peanut oil and pour it into the bowl with the spices.
  7. Add salt and white sugar to the mixture.
  8. Add the dried radish strips to the bowl and mix well.
  9. Store the spicy dried radish in a sealed jar for at least two days before consuming for enhanced flavor.
  10. Enjoy as a breakfast side with porridge.
