Soy Sauce Pork Ribs in a Rice Cooker

Notes

Ingredients:
  • Pork Ribs: 2500g
  • Green Onion: 1 segment
  • Garlic: 1 bunch
  • Ginger: 1 piece
  • Cinnamon: 2 small sticks
  • Star Anise: 5 pieces
  • Sichuan Peppercorns: a pinch
  • Bay Leaves: 4 pieces
  • Dried Red Chili: 1 piece
  • Soybean Paste: 30g
  • Dark Soy Sauce: 20g
  • Cooking Wine: 30g
  • Salt: 6g
  • Hot Water: half a pot
Instructions:
  1. Chop the pork ribs into small pieces and thoroughly wash to remove bone fragments.
  2. Boil the ribs in cold water until they change color and scum appears, then remove and rinse with warm water.
  3. Prepare the seasonings as listed in the ingredients. You can adjust the types and quantities based on your preference. Soybean paste enhances the flavor and cannot be substituted by soy sauce.
  4. Place the ribs in the rice cooker, add all seasonings, and pour in half a pot of hot water. Be cautious with the amount of dark soy sauce to avoid darkening the ribs too much.
  5. Cook using the "Braised" setting of the rice cooker for 70 minutes. You may stir halfway through to ensure even cooking.
  6. Once cooked, the ribs will be fragrant and tempting. Enjoy some immediately and leave the rest to soak in the soup for about an hour to enhance the flavor.
  7. Enjoy the delicious and fragrant soy sauce pork ribs.
