Boiled Pork Intestines: A Traditional Chinese Recipe
Ingredients:
- 500g Pork Intestines
- 5 slices Ginger
- 1/2 stalk Green Onion
- 2 tablespoons Cooking Wine
- Assorted Spices (star anise, dried hawthorn, tsao-ko, etc.)
Instructions:
- Clean the pork intestines by removing fat and rinsing with salt and water. Start with cold water in a pot, add green onion segments, ginger slices, and cooking wine. Bring to a boil and skim off any scum.
- Add salt and spices such as star anise, dried hawthorn, tsao-ko, etc., and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Use kitchen scissors to cut the intestines into small pieces and continue to simmer on low heat for another 30 minutes. Then, remove from heat.
- Your boiled pork intestines are ready to enjoy!
