Home-Style Honey Glazed Char Siu
Ingredients:
- Pork belly (Mei Hua Rou) 500g
- Char Siu sauce 200g
- Cooking wine 2 tablespoons
- Green onion, ginger, garlic, to taste
- White sesame seeds, a pinch
Instructions:
- Clean the pork belly and pat dry. Mix with minced ginger and garlic.
- Marinate in Char Siu sauce for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight in the fridge.
- Place green onions and ginger in the rice cooker. Add the marinated pork (including the marinade) and cook using the rice cooker's standard cooking setting.
- Once the rice cooker cycle is complete, proceed to the next step.
- Pour the remaining sauce into a non-stick pan and reduce until thick.
- Add the pork belly to the thickened sauce, ensuring it is well coated.
- Your Honey Glazed Char Siu is ready to be served.
- Slice thinly, plate, pour over the reduced sauce, and sprinkle with white sesame seeds.
