Traditional Chinese "Da Lu" Recipe
Ingredients:
- Pork belly: 150g
- Wood ear mushrooms: a handful, soaked
- Mushrooms: about 10, soaked
- Dried tofu: 2 pieces
- Wheat gluten: 1-2 pieces
- Daylily flowers: a handful, soaked
- Light soy sauce: to taste
- Sichuan peppercorns and star anise: to taste
- Green onions and ginger: to taste
- Sesame oil: 1 teaspoon
- Potato starch: 2 tablespoons
- Egg: 1
Instructions:
- Heat a pan and add oil. Cook the pork belly with green onions, ginger slices, Sichuan peppercorns, star anise, a pinch of salt, and soy sauce.
- Pre-soak the black wood ear mushrooms, daylilies, dried tofu, and wheat gluten. Blanch them in water.
- Add the blanched ingredients to the pork belly and cook briefly before adding the daylilies.
- Stir-fry over high heat.
- Add enough boiling water to cover the ingredients, then add the diluted potato starch and sesame oil.
- The flavor should be great. Optionally, stir in two scrambled eggs.
- Prepare to serve with noodles as "Da Lu Noodles".
