Slow Cookers

Are the 6 Quart Silicone Slow Cooker Liners a Good Fit for Your Crock Pot?

I recently purchased a 6-quart crock pot from Aldi and decided to try out silicone slow cooker liners. Although they fit somewhat loosely and are thinner than expected, they function well without interfering with the lid. These liners are perfect for cooking two items simultaneously, making them a practical addition to the kitchen. Despite being a bit floppy and hard to fill, they are BPA free, durable, and dishwasher safe, which facilitates cleanup.

The silicone liners are flexible and don’t retain their shape straight out of the package due to being folded, but this doesn’t affect their performance. I tested them with vegetables on one side and chicken in sauce on the other; both cooked perfectly. The convenience of these liners extends to cleaning—they can be easily rinsed and placed in the dishwasher’s top rack, eliminating the need to scrub the slow cooker.

These liners also work well for meal prep, allowing you to cook different dishes like cornbread, baked beans, or pulled pork separately in the same pot. They maintain their shape when filled with food and are easy to clean. What stands out is their ability to allow for steaming or pressure cooking vegetables without submerging them in water, preserving the nutrients.

Designed to fit like yin and yang in the center of the pot, they are flexible, easy to pour from, and dishwasher safe. The liners come in bright colors, aiding in kitchen organization and child participation during meal prep. This reusable option is not only convenient but also cost-effective compared to disposable liners, making it an essential kitchen tool, especially for small households.
