This is a great single layer cake, perfect for a family of two. I made a slight change for variety. I divided the batter in half, added 2 scant T. Dark cocoa to half and then alternately drop by tablespoons into an 8 X 8 cake pan. I ran a spatula back and forth to swirl, creating a marbled effect. Baked as directed.
