Here is a classic coffee cake with a tender crumb and a crunchy streusel topping that comes together in about an hour. It’s quite rich, so your serving sizes don’t need to be large.
Make the cake: Butter a 9-by-13-inch baking pan. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a medium bowl. Beat butter and granulated sugar with a mixer on medium speed until pale and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Beat in eggs and yolks, 1 at a time, then vanilla.
In the ingredients list add an extra 1 large tablespoon sugar to he 1/2 cup, use 1 cup milk instead of 1/2 cup. For crumb topping , along with the brown sugar add a tablespoons white sugar and use 2 big teaspoons cinnamon. I made these adjustments and the cake is fantastic.
