This Texas Tornado Cake is a classic recipe from my mother’s old recipe box. It is a copycat recipe based on a popular dessert served at Duff’s Famous Smorgasbord buffet-style restaurants during the 1980’s and 1990’s.
Mix and cream together sugar, eggs, fruit cocktail, baking soda, flour and spices. Pour into greased 13″ pan. Mix nuts and brown sugar together and sprinkle on top of cake batter. Bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes.
