I need a round cake for 25-30 people. I’m thinking either a 10″ round cake (2 layers) or should I add an 8″ cake on top (2 layers) Or a 8 and 6-inch cake? There’s gotta be a magic table somewhere? I would say a 10 inch would be fine. Probably a little more cake then you need or you can do an 8 and 6 for a 2 tiered look.
Really, I would just use an 11 by 15 – should be plenty of cake for 30! Good luck! yeah I thought about that, but she wants half chocolate and half white, didnt want to have to use 4 mixes as then I probably wouldnt even cover my costs……….. (not like i havent done that before).
I usually tell my customers that it will feed 30-40 people, depending on how big of a piece you want. For my family, we like bigger pieces and I still would make that size of cake for 30 people.
Easy Cake to Serve a Crowd. Insert baking core into center of cake, open end up. Scoop a little bit of batter and place it inside the baking core; it should be level with the rest of the batter in the pan. Bake for about 45 to 55 minutes or until a toothpick shows a few moist crumbs. Cool pan on rack for 15 minutes.
