Clay Pot Chicken: A Stunningly Delicious Recipe

Notes

Ingredients:
  • Half a chicken
  • 1 green onion
  • 1 onion
  • 5 slices of ginger
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 piece of cinnamon
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Side dishes (as desired)
  • 4 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
Instructions:
  1. Prepare the ingredients: half a chicken, green onion, onion, ginger, garlic, star anise, cinnamon, bay leaf, and your choice of side dishes.
  2. Heat a pan with a little oil and add the chicken.
  3. Cook the chicken until it turns slightly yellow and set aside.
  4. In another pan, heat oil and sauté green onions, onion, ginger, garlic, star anise, cinnamon, and bay leaf until fragrant.
  5. Add the chicken back to the pan and continue to stir-fry.
  6. Stir-fry for about 2 minutes.
  7. Add 4 tablespoons of light soy sauce and 2 tablespoons of dark soy sauce, then stir-fry until the chicken is well-coated in the sauce.
  8. Add enough hot water to cover the chicken.
  9. Cover and simmer over medium heat for about 30 minutes.
  10. After 30 minutes, add 1 tablespoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce.
  11. Continue to stir-fry for another 30 seconds.
  12. Add the prepared side dishes.
  13. Cover and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
  14. Your Clay Pot Chicken is ready to serve!
  15. Enjoy the delicious and flavorful dish!
