Home-Style Roast Leg of Lamb

Ingredients:
  • Fresh Leg of Lamb (2000g)
  • "太太乐原味鲜" Soy Sauce (30g)
  • "太太乐" Cooking Wine (15g)
  • Onion (1/2)
  • Potatoes (2)
  • Carrot (1/2)
  • Apple (1/2)
  • Garlic (1/2 head)
  • Cumin Seeds (8g)
  • Cumin Powder (8g)
  • Chili Powder (5g)
  • Salt (7g)
  • Salad Oil (10g)
  • Honey Water (20g)
Instructions:
  1. Prepare and clean the leg of lamb, making cuts for flavor absorption. Split the leg if too large for the oven.
  2. Chop the apple, potatoes, carrot, onion, and garlic.
  3. Mix cumin powder, cumin seeds, salt, chili powder, and soy sauce in a bowl.
  4. Add cooking wine to the mixture.
  5. Apply the marinade evenly on the lamb, massaging it in. Marinate for at least 5 hours, preferably overnight.
  6. Mix remaining marinade with chopped vegetables.
  7. Wrap the lamb and vegetables in cling film and refrigerate.
  8. Preheat the oven to 210°C. Place vegetables on foil, top with lamb, and wrap. Bake for 1 hour.
  9. Remove foil, apply honey water, sprinkle more cumin and chili powder, and bake for an additional 25 minutes.
  10. Remove the roasted lamb from the oven and enjoy the aroma!
