Brown Sugar Layered Mantou (Steamed Bun)

Notes

Ingredients:
  • 20g Brown Sugar
  • 400g Flour
  • 20g White Sugar
  • 2g Sugar-Tolerant Yeast
  • 5g Dark Soy Sauce
  • 200g Water
Instructions:
  1. Mix the brown sugar, flour, white sugar, sugar-tolerant yeast, and dark soy sauce in a bowl.
  2. Gradually add water and knead to form a smooth dough.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise until it doubles in size.
  4. Punch down the dough and roll it out into a thin layer.
  5. Fold the dough into multiple layers, ensuring each layer is evenly distributed.
  6. Cut the layered dough into equal-sized pieces.
  7. Shape each piece into a bun and place on a steamer tray.
  8. Let the buns rest for a short period to rise slightly.
  9. Steam the buns over high heat for about 20 minutes or until fully cooked.
  10. Allow the buns to cool slightly before serving.
