I have been baking this gingerbread cake annually for Christmas since 2011 to my family’s delight…it’s THE Christmas dessert. I finished baking two of these cakes in Bundt cake pans today.
Made the gingerbread cake. It took longer than 50 minutes to bake, maybe closer to 70! Very good, but my family wasn’t that thrilled with it, though I liked it!

Thinking you, who know almost all, might have an old recipe from Gourmet for ginger cake, not gingerbread. It was baked in a loaf pan and used powdered ginger, fresh ginger and crystallized ginger. I remember it had a German name.
