About Mawa Cake Recipe: An inventive cake recipe made with fresh khoya (mawa). A perfect choice to light up any festive occasion such as Diwali in your house. Indulge in the goodness of vanilla essence with khoya with this decadent mawa cake recipe!
In a separate bowl, whisk the mawa (khoya), butter and sugar using an electric blender until it becomes light and fluffy. Then, add the eggs one by one to this mixture and whisk it properly.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together butter and sugar. Add grated mawa or milk powder and mix. Beat 2 eggs into the mixture. Add all the remaining dry ingredients and milk, except the nuts. Pour the batter into a greased baking pan lined with parchment paper.
Sprinkle almonds or pistachios on top of the batter. Bake in preheated oven for about 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Mawa or khoya is solidified milk. You may substitute milk powder for mawa if mawa is unavailable. I used butter in my recipe but using ghee will give it a richer taste.
