Radish Bun Recipe

Ingredients:
  • All-purpose flour, as needed
  • Yeast, as needed
  • 1 radish
  • A small amount of minced meat
  • A small amount of vermicelli noodles
  • Salt, to taste
  • Light soy sauce, as needed
  • Dark soy sauce, as needed
  • Oyster sauce, as needed
  • Five-spice powder, as needed
  • Chili oil, as needed
  • Sichuan peppercorn oil, as needed
  • Green onions, as needed
  • Ginger, as needed
Instructions:
  1. Mix the flour with yeast and knead into a smooth dough. Let it rest until it doubles in size.
  2. Prepare the filling ingredients: radish, a bit of minced meat, vermicelli, green onions, and ginger.
  3. Grate the radish into fine strips, soak in salt water, briefly blanch vermicelli and chop, chop green onions and ginger.
  4. Heat oil in a pan, stir-fry the minced meat.
  5. Add vermicelli, green onions, and ginger, and continue to stir-fry.
  6. Add salt, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, and five-spice powder, and stir-fry until evenly mixed. Remove from heat and let cool.
  7. Squeeze out excess water from the radish strips and mix into the cooled filling.
  8. Add chili oil and Sichuan peppercorn oil to the filling and mix well.
  9. Knead the rested dough until smooth, divide into small portions.
  10. Roll out each portion into a thick bun wrapper.
  11. Add the filling to the wrappers and seal the buns.
  12. Steam the buns in a steamer for 15 minutes, then let them sit for 3 minutes with the heat off.
  13. Enjoy the flavorful radish buns!
